Letizia Amadori PhD
Letizia earned her B.S. in Biology and M.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Milan, Italy. She went on to receive a PhD in Molecular Medicine (Molecular Oncology and Human Genetics) through the University of Milan and the European School of Molecular Medicine (SEMM). Following her doctoral training, Letizia moved to New York City to pursue postdoctoral studies in cancer genetics at Columbia University. She later expanded her research interests to cardiovascular genetics and cardiovascular immunology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. During this time, she contributed to several projects, including two drug repurposing pipelines aimed at treating atherosclerosis, work that she completed as a Senior Research Scientist at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine.
In 2026, Letizia joined the LXCG as an Assistant Scientist. Her research focuses on understanding how specific defects in MYH7 lead to a distinct form of developmental heart disease. In addition to her scientific focus, she plays an active role in the management of the laboratory’s operational activities.
Outside the lab, Letizia is passionate about music, art, and writing. She taught herself to play the guitar and a bit of piano as well. She also loves painting and she challenges herself by learning new languages — five and counting (Italian, English, Spanish, French and Korean)!
